INSTRUCTORS
 
Sue Kirkman, our Horticulture and Flower Show Procedure Instructor, is a member of the Garden Club of Frankfort, KY, an NGC Flower Show Judge, Gardening Consultant, Landscape Design Consultant, Master Gardener, American Iris Society Judge and a member of the American Horticulture, Bluegrass Iris Society, Bluegrass Daffodil Society and North American Lily Society.  She has served as President of the Kentucky Judges Council.  She is a retired college instructor and gerontologist.  Sue spends her time with her grandchildren, gardening, traveling and playing with her 130 pound English Mastiff. 
 
Kathleen Hawryluk our Design Instructor is an award-winning floral designer.  She moved to Naples, Florida thirteen years ago from Huntington, Long Island, New York where she was President of the Nathan Hale Garden Club. Now a member of Naples Garden Club and Gulf Coast Garden Club, she served for three years as Chair of the Naples Flower Show which is held in March each year. Two of these shows won awards at the State level and also at the National level. She is an accredited National Garden Club Flower Show Judge, former Director of Judges Council District IX, former President of Naples Ikebana International #160, past Director of District IX, Secretary of CFAA, certified Judges Flower Show School Design Instructor and a certified Sogetsu Instructor (Ikebana).
Kathleen gives floral demonstrations all over the country and in Nassau, Bahamas. A program presented to the Welcome to Florida club in Naples, Florida was warmly received. She was a speaker at CFAA (Creative Floral Arrangers of the Americas) in February 2015, and in San Francisco at OFAD (Organization of Floral Art Designers) in August 2016. Named "Designer of Distinction” for 2016 by the Jacksonville Garden Clubs, she gave a program for them in January 2016. Ohio Judges Council welcomed her to present a program in May 2017, and in October 2018 was in Atlanta presenting the new National Garden Club designs to the Georgia NGC Judges.
